Belinda Stronach quits the Conservative Party of Canada to get a Liberal cabinet post (HRDC of all things). She follows Scott Brison and Keith Martin.

David Kilgour, ex-Conservative, leaves the Liberal Party to sit as an independent.

Peter McKay, elected leader of the Progressive Conservatives on a promise of not joining with the Canadian Alliance, holds meetings with Stephen Harper to merge the two parties into the Conservative Party of Canada.

Stephen Harper quits Preston Manning's Reform Party, then agitates from the outside for a leadership position when it becomes the Canadian Alliance.

Preston Manning leaves the Progressive Conservatives to create the Reform Party.

Lucien Bouchard leaves the Progressive Conservatives to found the separatist Bloc Québecois.

Is there any question why Canadians are fed up with their politicians, who jump ship at the slightest opportunity to advance their own political careers?
